CDCI, is lead by its founder, Russell D. Simmons, a thirty year veteran of housing and real estate development, minority business development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) banking and community development together with long-time business associate and partner, Roy O. Priest, a nationally acclaimed community economic development (CED) advocate, industry spokesmen, public policy strategist, planning and program development innovator.
Their combined experience represents more than 60 years of dedication, innovation and local expertise in successful implementation of community and economic development at the national, state and local levels. Both Simmons and Priest have been recognized for award-winning programs and initiatives in affordable housing, business development and community investment strategies.
